This paper reports an exploratory study of the aeroacoustics of a merging flow at a duct junction with the same width in all branches and different merging angles. The focus is put on the acoustic generation due to the flow unsteadiness. The study is carried out by the direct aeroacoustic simulation (DAS) approach, which solves the unsteady compressible Navier–Stokes equations and the perfect gas equation of state simultaneously using the conservation element and solution element (CE/SE) method. The Mach number based on the maximum inlet velocity of side branch is 0.1 and the Reynolds number of the flow based on duct width and this velocity is 2.3×105. The numerical simulations are performed in two dimensions and the aeroacoustics at different merging angles (30°, 45°, 60° and 90°) are studied. Both the levels of unsteady interactions of merging flow structures and the efficiency of the acoustic generation are observed to increase with the merging angles, where the increase in acoustic efficiency can be up to three orders of magnitude. The major acoustic source is found to be the fluctuating wall pressure induced by the flow unsteadiness in the downstream branch. A scaling law between the wall fluctuating force and the acoustic efficiency is also derived.  相似文献

Laser-induced fluorescence from frog skeletal muscle fibers treated with lanthanides, Eu3+ and Tb3+, was recorded. The fluorescence was weak and overlapped with the Raman scattering by the Ringer solution when the muscle fibers were illuminated with an argon-ion laser. The fluorescence decay rate of the lanthanide in Ringer's solution was 2–3 times larger than that of the lanthanide bound to the muscle fiber. The number of water molecules coordinated to the lanthanide bound to the muscle fiber was determined to be about three. This suggests that lanthanide ions bind superficially to the outer membrane of the muscle fiber.  相似文献

The fabrication of three‐dimensional (3D) electrospun composite scaffolds was presented in this study. Layers of electrospun meshes made from composites of poly(lactide‐co‐glycolide acid) (PLGA) and hydroxyapatite (HA) were stacked and sintered using pressurized gas. Three HA concentrations of 5, 10, and 20 wt % were tested, and the addition of the HA nanoparticles decreased the tensile mechanical properties of the meshes with 20 wt % HA. However, after the gas absorption process, the fibers within the mesh sintered, which improved the mechanical properties more than twofold. The fabrication of 3D, porous, electrospun scaffolds was also demonstrated. The resulting 3D scaffolds had open porosity of up to 70% and modulus of ~20 MPa. This technique improves on the current electrospinning technology by overcoming the challenges of depositing a thick, 3D structure. © 2011 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. A series of calix[4]arene based ditopic receptors possessing bipyridyl and hydrazone units have been synthesized and evaluated for ionic recognition. It has been observed that the synthesized derivatives function as allosteric receptors for simultaneous recognition of Co2+and F? ions through non-covalent interactions. Significant bathochromic shifts in the UV–visible spectrum with a profound colour change promise their use to engineer novel applications.  相似文献

Terpyridylplatinum(II)‐based metallosupramolecular triblock copolymers with hydrophilic alkynyl ligands have been synthesised and characterised. As a result of the intrinsic properties of Pluronics, reversible temperature‐induced micellisation occurred at high temperature leading to aggregation of the platinum(II) complex moieties through Pt???Pt and π–π interactions, resulting in significant UV/Vis absorption and near‐infrared (NIR) emission spectral changes. The critical micelle temperatures of the complexes were found to vary from 21 to 30 °C due to differences in the hydrophilicity of the alkynyl ligands and the electrostatic repulsions between the positively charged platinum(II) complex moieties. One of the complexes with pH‐responsive CH2NMe2 groups on the alkynyl ligand was found to show NIR emission that is sensitive to both pH and temperature. Such dual‐responsive behaviour has been ascribed to the modulation of the self‐assembly of the complex moieties by temperature‐induced micellisation and the changes in the hydrophilicity as well as electrostatic interactions upon protonation/deprotonation of the CH2NMe2 groups on the alkynyl ligand.  相似文献
